Capello hit by 'bugging' shock ENGLAND'S plans for the World Cup have been dealt a hammer blow by shocking revelations players have been BUGGED. The Football Association has launched an investigation after it was revealed security had been breached and conversations secretly recorded in the run up to last week's 3-1 victory over Egypt. Team tactics and how much in bonuses players would get if they were victorious this summer are reported to be included in the secret recordings. The contents of the tapes — believed to have been made by a member of the public — were described as "dynamite". The recordings will come as a blow to Fabio Capello who was recently forced to strip John Terry of the England captaincy following revelations that he cheated on his wife. Defensive injuries and Wayne Bridge's decision not to play in the World Cup because of Terry's infidelity with his ex Vanessa Perroncel mean the England manager already has enough to worry about ahead of the South African tournament. A letter was sent to newspapers yesterday by the fa's solicitors, Charles Russell, stating that a recording had been obtained illicitly and that publication would be illegal and represent a breach of Press Complaints Commission rules and the Data Protection Act. A spokesman for The Grove hotel in Hertfordshire, where the squad stayed before last week's match, said: "We do not know anything about it. "We have been hosting England for three or four years and provide a very high level of security for them. They also bring their own security team. It would surprise me if they had been bugged here."
